FAQs About Your First IV Hydration Session

Blog

IV clinics are popping up in cities everywhere. They offer vitamin-infused and hydrating IV solutions delivered to patients on-demand. An IV hydration session can help you recover after a hard workout or competition. It can also speed recovery after the flu or after a night of heavy drinking. If you have an IV clinic in your town, this treatment is definitely worth trying. Here are a few questions you may have beforehand.

Will the IV hurt?

You will probably feel a prick or a pinch when the needle is inserted into your arm, but that's about it. As long as the needle stays stable and does not move, you probably won't feel much as the IV fluid is being dripped into your veins.

How do you prepare for your appointment?

You don't have to do much to prepare for an IV hydration session. Do keep drinking water. While the IV hydration session will hydrate you, it does work best if you start the session at least somewhat hydrated. This makes it easier for the practitioner to find your veins and insert the needle on the first try.

What does the IV solution contain?

A standard, hydrating IV solution typically contains water plus dissolved electrolytes. These electrolytes typically include sodium, potassium, magnesium, and sometimes calcium. Some IV solutions also contain water-soluble vitamins, such as vitamins C, B3, and B6.

Can you have other ingredients added to the IV?

Some IV clinics do allow you to add other ingredients to the IV by request. For instance, you may be able to have them add extra vitamin C or extra sodium. There are typically restrictions as to what you can have added, however. The practitioners need to be careful not to add more than is safe.

How often should you have an IV hydration session?

You can have a session as often as you feel it is needed. Some athletes who are in hard training have a session every few days to help them recover from workouts. Other people have one after every night of heavy drinking. Still others only have a session after they have been sick. Once you get a treatment and see how it makes you feel, you will have a better sense of how often you should have them.

IV hydration treatments often give people relief. Talk to a practitioner at an IV clinic to learn more about IV hydration treatments.

Choosing A Better Salon

Do you remember the last time you had your hair professionally done? About a year ago, I realized that I needed to have a little help with my look, so I started checking out different spas and salons in the area. I was able to find an amazing place that specialized in hairstyles for men, and so I made an appointment and then headed in. It was really incredible to see how much of a difference they were able to make, and within no time, I felt like I looked a ton better. This blog is all about choosing a better salon to get a personal makeover.
