4 Things To Do To Take Care Of Your Face After A Facial

Blog

Getting a facial is an entire experience. Getting a facial helps take care of and protect your face. However, it can also make your face really sensitive as well, so you need to make sure that you take care of your face correctly after your facial.

#1 Wait to Exercise

When you get a facial, generally your face is scrubbed and cleaned. Dead skin is removed from your face, making the skin more sensitive. You want to be careful about what you expose your face to, including sweat. Try to schedule your facials in a time frame when you don't need to work out afterwards. Ideally, you want to wait an entire day before you work out after a facial. That way, you limit your face's exposure to contaminants, including sweat.

#2 Don't Exfoliate Right Away

When you get a facial, your skin is usually deeply exfoliated. You don't need to go home and exfoliate your skin any further. Don't go home and use your exfoliating face wash for the next two days following your professional facial. You don't want to over-exfoliate your skin. Over-exfoliating your skin can lead to your skin breaking out.

#3  Be Gentle With Your Face

After a facial, your skin is a little sensitive, so you want to be careful with how you treat your face. The next time you wash your face, be really gentle. Don't scrub your face or rub it too roughly. Use a gentle facial cleanser and a gentle touch.

In fact, when you go to sleep the night after a facial, just gently wash your face off with a little water. A little water is all you really need.

#4 Go Light with the Make-Up

After a facial, your pores are really exposed. In order to protect your pores, you want to be careful what you expose your pores to, including your makeup. If you usually wear a lot of make-up, try to go make-up free for the first day or two following your facial. If you don't feel like you can go without makeup, stick to simple make-up, such as mascara and lipstick; stay away from foundation that covers up your entire face.

Also, be careful with scents. If any of your make-up has an odor to it, or is perfumed, stay away from that type of makeup. Make-up with a scent has additional ingredients that can clog up your pores.

After a facial, you want to be gentle with your face. Don't exfoliate anymore when you get home, and use a gentle face-wash. Reduce the amount of make-up and take a day off from working out.

Choosing A Better Salon

Do you remember the last time you had your hair professionally done? About a year ago, I realized that I needed to have a little help with my look, so I started checking out different spas and salons in the area. I was able to find an amazing place that specialized in hairstyles for men, and so I made an appointment and then headed in. It was really incredible to see how much of a difference they were able to make, and within no time, I felt like I looked a ton better. This blog is all about choosing a better salon to get a personal makeover.
